Tyler had his first soccer game tonight and he scored two goals. He was so excited on his first goal that he came running from the field all the way to Steve on the sideline to jump in his arms and hug him. Tyler showed some speed--I wonder where he got it...
Tyler was beaming as you can see in the photo. I've never seen Tyler get so excited--except in the case of Thomas the Train of course. I've never seen daddy get so excited either.
After Tyler scored his first goal, he kinda looked around as if to say..."where do I go now?" Then Tyler turned to the sidelines where Steve was jumping up and down with his hands and arms above his head, cheering at the top of his lungs. Catching a glimpse of his daddy jumping up and down and cheering for him, Tyler burst into joy and ran to Steve. I caught this photo just as Tyler jumped into Steve's arms for a big hug--it was at that instant that Tyler learned how cool it is to score a goal. Dad experienced for the first time the simple joy that goals are better the second time around, when you're watching your son score them!
We don't really know how to coach boys at this young age except to really cheer loud when Tyler does well. We hope that's a decent strategy--and that we don't make fools of ourselves with all our jumping and screaming.

What a handsome guy! Those little soccer games are so much fun! Way to go Tyler...I guess the athletics run in the family. He is so adorable!
He is too cute for words! We are so proud! That photo is amazing - it captures so much emotion and so much of his personality! We are coming to a game for sure! Love you so much...
You captured the moment! The pure, genuine happiness on Ty's face is priceless. It makes me want to cry!
Oh Katie! I can't wait to have moments like that with my kids. Isn't that what life's about? I can't take Ty's face. He's just overjoy'd. I am too just thinking about the moment. I wish so badly I could've been a part of it. I'm sure those are the moments, as parents, when your heart simply swells...
What a great capture Katie! I only wish that I could see the excitement on Steve's face. It makes me anxious to have a family of my own and cheer on some "goal scoring".
