Our Missionary...Scott

My Brother Scott and the Anderson Fam before Scott Left for the MTC

As many of you all know, the Anderson Family sent off our first and only missionary! My cute little brother Scott is currently serving an LDS mission in Winnipeg, Cananda. He is our baby brother after three girls, so when when he said goodbye at the MTC in June, he didn't have just one, but four mothers balling their eyes out to see him leave! He is well taken care of with all of us anxiously sending him packages packed with goodies and hoping for some mail in return. So far, Scott has sent me two letters and some group emails to the family. He sends us word of his experiences, living conditions, and brief glimpses into his thoughts and feelings. I am so proud of him.

Tyler's Drawing of Scott Coming Home on an Airplane

Stephen told our four year old son Tyler about his memory of welcoming home his own uncle LaVar when he was Tyler's same age. Steve still remembers it and clearly recalls drawing a picture of LaVar arriving in an airplane from his mission. So Steve encouraged Tyler to draw a picture of Scott in an airplane headed to Winnipeg.

So, . . . bright and early the next morning, our little artist woke us up, begging us to come downstairs to see the picture he drew of Uncle Scott in the airplane. This is the picture he drew (above). Scottie is peering out one of the many little windows along the side of his airplane!

We were surprised that Tyler not only remembered to draw the picture, but that he made it his top-of-the-morning priority. It's amazing to see little Tyler's mind at work. He requires only the slightest encouragement and he's immediately off working on a new project. He's so bright and passionate about life.

Being a parent is truly a privilege. Every step and each advancement that a child makes is like witnessing a miracle. These little babies turn into boys so quickly. Stop the clock! I want to keep my little toddlers just the way they are.

It's amazing how fast our little ones are growing! Tyler's picture is adorable! I hope Haylee isn't scared of her uncle Jake when he returns home in April! She arrived to our family when he was gone!

Hey! Is your husbands uncle LaVar Christensen and his daughter is Karen? I used to work for LaVar at Deseret Title, and I was even in one of his campaign commercials!! If it's the same LaVar? He is such a nice guy!!

ok-I give up. I can't hang in blogosphere. You're blog is waaaaay too amazing. I'm really embarrassed for anyone to look at ours. You're family is just beautiful. Little Blake...well-he's just too much. As for Tyler-what's up with his IQ? He's so smart! That airplane drawing proves he's a genius! And Tallie-he's just a heartbreaker. We love you all so much. I personally think you should begin "blogging classes". Kate-you're too good at everything you attempt. Steve-we always knew you were. Loves to your sweet family from ours!
